Outreach empowers and encourages all members of the congregation to live out our mission through loving our neighbor. Our Outreach Committee strives to identify opportunities to walk beside our neighbors living on the margins. Through food and hygiene collections, opening our campus to community programs, and meeting our partners in their mission to provide dignity to God's people, Holy Comforter is dedicated to living our faith with compassion.

Holy Comforter's Compassion Goal-
Holy Comforter acknowledged our role in loving our neighbors on the margins.

BCO- The Belmont Community Organization
The Belmont Community Organization was founded in 1956 with the mission to assist people in our community. Each year, the BCO gives out more than 100,000 pounds of food as well as clothing, furniture, appliances, and household items to nearly 1,000 families. We also provide limited financial assistance for medication, rent, and utilities. Holy Comforter partners with the BCO during the Christmas season providing presents for angel tree kids.

Bountiful Blessings
Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry, Inc. is a community-based organization that offers nutritious food and support services to individuals in the Greater Gaston County area. The organization aims to alleviate hunger and food insecurity by providing a wide range of food options, including fresh produce, canned goods, and pantry staples. Holy Comforter partners with Bountiful Blessings by volunteering to give out resources to food-insecure neighbors.

Bunny Blessings-
Bunny Blessings provides animal-assisted interactions at assisted living facilities, nursing homes, rehab facilities, domestic violence/homeless shelters, crisis locations, schools, church groups, and service groups. Animal Therapy ministers to those who are lonely, depressed, anxious, or grieving. Holy Comforter partners with Bunny Blessings through volunteer projects, donating supplies, and sponsoring bunny care.

Catherine's House-
Catherine's House serves women and children facing homelessness due to a variety of circumstances such as domestic violence, un/underemployment, the shortage of affordable housing, unexpected tragedies, and the lack of a support network. Holy Comforter partners with Catherine's house by donating period products and volunteering for household projects.

Displaced Roses-
Displaced Roses is an advocacy outreach organization serving those experiencing homelessness in Gaston County. Displaced Roses provide a hot meal, clothes, basic essentials, and hygiene opportunities but most importantly hope. Holy Comforter partners with Displaced Roses by hosting "Undy Sundy's", where we collect new underwear for their clothing closet.

American Red Cross-
The American Red Cross's main purpose is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing volunteers and donors to provide disaster relief, blood services, training, and service to the armed forces. Holy Comforter hosts an annual blood drive in the spring.

S.O.C.K.S Crisis Ministry-
A Volunteer-run crisis assistance ministry serving rural areas in eastern Gaston County. S.O.C.K.S. provides food, clothing, personal care items, and funds to help with bills such as gas, medicine, and electricity, as funding is available. Holy Comforter partners with S.O.C.K.S. by donating food weekly to help sock their pantry.

Back to School Drive-
Belmont has two Title I schools, North Belmont Elementary School and Catawba Heights Elementary School. Each year at the beginning of the school year, items are collected for local schools. Holy Comfort Partners with these schools each year after Christmas by donating school supplies.
