Meet Our Staff
Pastor Micah Kearney
Micah attended Lenoir-Rhyne University, originally majoring in Elementary Education before changing to a religion major and graduating with a degree in Outdoor Ministry. This change in major came in large part due to the summers working as a counselor at Lutheridge. It was there Micah truly began discerning a call to ministry. He realized the joy that he had working in full-time ministry, and being a part of growing and shaping Christ-centered communities. Additionally, it was there he received affirmation of his gifts and encouragement in discerning a call to be a pastor.
Micah is married to his wife Jenn, who grew up in Gastonia and also attended Lenoir-Rhyne where they met. In June of 2012 their son, Gabriel, was born just before they went on internship in Huntsville, AL. Their time there was filled with learning the pace and patterns of working in a church, as well as how to be parents. Micah graduated from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC in May of 2014.
Deacon of Discipleship
Beka is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, with degrees in Human and Community Services and Psychology. Beka entered seminary at Wartburg Theological Seminary in 2018 while serving Holy C. Graduating in 2021, Beka was called to Holy Comforter as a Deacon. Her passions lie in teaching, preaching, and relationship building with those around her. She is a North Carolina native, growing up in Raleigh and Mocksville. Prior to working in full time ministry, she worked at Agape Kure Beach Ministries as a counselor and a team leader. That role has encouraged and affirmed her desire to be in rostered ministry. In her spare time Beka loves to try new things. She enjoys yoga, DIY projects, board games, hammocking, reading, and hanging out with her pups, Felix and Chloe.
