Heather Mauney Yount Memorial Playground
Thank your for your Kind Donations
The campaign has been fully funded!
Please consider your contribution to the Heather Mauney Yount Memorial Playground project. Heather was a long time member of Holy Comforter and passed in 2002 of ALS. She left behind a legacy of laughter and love as a teacher, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Through the generous contributions from family, congregation members at the time of Heather’s passing and anonymous donors, Holy Comforter has been given a gift of $18k to fund the playground equipment.

Playground FAQ
What is the scope of the project? The cost of the commercial equipment, professional installation, boarder and mulch in the play area, removal of portico pavers, new sidewalk and curbing installation, parking space bumpers along the new side walk at the existing parking spots, new striping and parking lot crack repairs, new fence, required signage, landscaping and other necessities is approximately $36k. These items ensure we will be ADA (American Disability Act) and Belmont City code compliant for the safety of our children, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing.
Why does is have to be ADA compliant? As a commercial structure, it is necessary to permit the project and be compliant with all municipality requirements.
Where will it be located? The playground will be located in lot to the right of the Fellowship Hall entrance/storage building. This location is directly behind Pastor Micah and Jen's house—and Gabriel is especially looking forward to its installation!
Will the church have additional liability insurance? Yes, it will less than $200 per year. In addition “rules” signage will be posted for our protection (i.e., adult supervision required for use, proper footwear, hours, play at own risk, etc.).
Who will use it? The playground is designed for ages 2-12 with adult supervision required.
Why now? We have received a gift of $18k out of $36k required to complete the Heather Mauney Yount Memorial playground. This donation is specifically designated for the playground project and will not be used for other church improvements. We are honoring this generous gift, celebrating God’s children and supporting youth!
When will it be completed? When the full $36k amount has been donated.
